Make your own - it is soooo simple!
Peppermint, Honey & Yoghurt Face Scrub / Mask
Yep, that's all it is, but it really does work!
- Peppermint Leaf
- Natural Greek Yoghurt
- Honey
Mix 1 small tsp of each ingredient together in a small bowl.
Wash face and neck with warm water and then use fingers to apply all over face and neck and gently rub in.
I usually then leave on for 10-15 mins, but there is nothing harsh in here, so if you get distracted doing something else it's okay.
Wash off with warm water - I usually do this under the shower. This mix does not have the microplastic beads that are in so many commercial blends, so it can be a bit messier than the highly processed scrubs.
This is so simple so it should not be necessary to store but it will keep in the fridge for a couple of days and the leaf will soften a bit more.
If you make to much by mistake, just add a little bit of apple cider vinegar and it makes a great salad dressing!
Benefits
Peppermint has antiseptic and cooling properties that freshen the skin. The dried leaf also offers the lightly abrasive properties needed for an exfoliant scrub but is gentle enough to be left on for a mask.
Yoghurt is moisturising, toning and brightening. There is evidence that the lactic acid can also increase the elasticity of the skin and reduce the appearance of fine lines.
Honey is rich in antioxidants, is hydrating and antibacterial and has enzyme activity to make your skin glow.
